Only 15 Sleeps before we leave Australia!!!!

Greetings All! At Trevor's suggestion I am creating a new "posting" so we can start adding comments to this rather than the 51 others below! Latest news: Your travel packs ("show bags" really) have now been mailed (or dropped off in you live in Sydney) so keep a lookout for the postman. Lots of goodies inside.

A whole bunch of us leave on the same flight from Sydney on Wednesday the 13th - Mum, Dad, Lou, Jamila (from Bris Vegas), Leigh (Canberra), Philip and me from Sydney. We are all overnighting in Bangkok to break that loooonnngg and arduous flight to Europe. Should be huge fun. We then meet John/Janey/Rose/Mike in Ljubljana for our pre-cruise tour. The tour picks up Mia in Zagreb 2 days later, then Annette and Geoff in Plitvice on Wed 20th. The bus continues to trundle though Croatia with all 13 of us on board until we arrive in Split on the same day as the rest of you. That's 15 more sleeps for us and a few more for the rest of you.

There was a great article on Dubrovnik in our Sunday Herald which I will get our tech guru Trevor to publish on the blog. Lots of LURVE, S

It is hard to believe that we are only days away from this great adventure.

Sean & Philip have put so much love & effort into organising this special birthday, knowing most of their family & friends we can be assured of a feeling of belonging during our time together

Pat, maybe we will be so gobsmacked by the beauty ahead of us on the Dalmatian coast that even the non believers may have some spiritual awakening. Geoff I had nuns & brothers teach me everything some good some bad. Believe or not I have just had lunch with a nun friend in Sydney today. She was fully made up, wore earings, and uses perfume. Said she likes to be feminine! She is envious of our holiday but she has a pretty good time herself.

Ok it did! Philip here. Only 13 days till Sean and I leave, along with various dearly loved ones! Not even two weeks now!
We had a little flurry of worry this week when we realised that we hadn't heard from Lora of the Adriatic Queen (our ship) for about 3 weeks. Visions of a con started to flit through my mind. We have, opf course, met her and visited the ship, her home and Split last September to make sure it was all for real.

Anyway, much to our collective relief, she has again been in touch and all is well!

It is a bit nerve wracking dealing with people via email and so far away!

The weather in Croatia has been hitting the high 20's already, and the more people we talk to the more positive comments we hear about the Dalmatian Coast.

There are over 1,000 islands in the area, and that means that we can have 34.5 each! So there will be plenty of space!

Sean has been so busy with the organising of this trip, and I have to admit that he has handled everything really. His true calling is definately travel (mostly on the enjoying side of it) but he is very good at organising the mechanics of travel.

Make sure you have your Visa or Mastercards with you (Amex may not be much use in many places), and a great way of accessing cash whilst overseas is to pay into your visa account in Australia so that you are in credit, and using auto tellers overseas to access this cash. As long as you have a PIN number you should be able to pull out the cash. This is much better than travellers cheques or cash.

And finally for now, Garry, as you said, knowing Sean's family we CAN be assured of feeling belonging during the trip. Everyone will get on famously. I think the biggest problem will be getting everyone off the ship each port, with all the politeness of "oh no you first"!
